Many times as a boy I would hire one of those row boats and row around the canals. I sometimes got into trouble because I would row out into the main port area. The people in the port office or perhaps Knippelsbro bridge would read the number of the row boat through their binoculars and call the man hiring out the boats and when I returned I would get a telling off. Well, you have to have some fun sometimes and just rowing around the same old canals all the time got a bit boring.
